Wanted: Social Media Intern for National Instruments

I’m looking to hire the next superstar social media intern for National Instruments.


Position Overview and Responsibilities
Do you regularly geek-out over new technologies?
Do you understand the business benefits of sites like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter?
Do you enjoy reading and writing blog posts?
Do you have experience using social media to get real results?
If yes, then apply for the National Instruments social media internship.  Over the course of a semester, you will help drive strategy and execution on projects involving online communities (, viral videos, brand blogs, and a variety of other technologies.


But this job is more than just playing on Facebook.

You will be working along-side the community and social media manager to incorporate technologies into public relations, advertising, and other marketing groups. Additionally, you will be interacting directly with customers to help with support, get product feedback, and making a real impact on the business.

Position Requirements

Candidates must be enrolled students working toward bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, business, marketing, journalism, public relations, advertising, online marketing, or other related field.
· Excellent written and verbal communications
· Affinity for audio, video and technology tools
· Interest in Web development
· Experience with social networking
· Experience executing integrated marketing campaigns
· Proven track record of creativity
· Analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
· Good at leading and building relationships
· Event planning (during summer internship)
· Fast-paced team environment (tight deadlines, multitasking, project management, etc.)
· Strong customer service
· Willingness to take risks
· Open to ongoing change
· E-mail intensive environment
· Open office environment

Please Note: National Instruments will not petition for H-1B status from student visas for full-time Marketing Communication hires, thus can not accept candidates for this intern position who are on a student visa and have Curriculum Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), or academic training.
